This is where you can hear songs that have been cut
from my musicals and songs and music cues I've written for plays.

Breakfast at Tiffany's

In 2006 Kelly Marcel was commissioned to write a treatment for a musical version of Truman Capote's Breakfast at Tiffany's, for part of the pitch we wrote a song for Holly Golightly.  The song has since been recorded by Gemma Atkins and is available on her album Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow. Here is the original demo sung by Gemma Sutton, playing piano is Mark W Dorrell.

  101 Dalmatians

The chance to write for an iconic character like Cruella De Vil doesn't come up very often and I had real fun writing the songs for The Royal & Derngate's production of 101 Dalmations at the end of 2007. Here are some demos.

  Southwark Fair

In Jan 2006 I wrote my first score for the National Theatre and Nicholas Hytner. The show was Samuel Adamson's fantastic play Southwark Fair, and I wrote four songs for it. Two of which you can now download below. Lyrics by Samuel Adamson, music by Grant Olding.

Bollywood Jane

I wrote and recorded the score to Amanda Whittington's play Bollywood Jane in June 2007. It was a joy to work at the West Yorkshire Playhouse on this piece with director Nikolai Foster, Colin Richmond (set/costumes), Guy Hoare (lights) and Zoobin Surty (choreographer). Here are some cues from the show.

Man of Mode

In Feb 2007 I wrote and recorded the score to Nicholas Hytner's production of Man of Mode at the NT Olivier Theatre. The show starred Rory Kinnear, Tom Hardy, Hayley Atwell, Nancy Carroll & Bertie Carvel and was great fun to work on - not least because the music was so prominent in the piece and I had to collaborate so closely with wonderful choreographer David Bolger. Here are some clips from the show.
