Three Sides tells the simple story of three people sharing one relationship. After a depressing new year, a chance meeting leads to Carrie getting involved with both Ant and Brian. But when she can't decide which to ditch and the men gradually realise they are in love with her, even the simplest things start to get complicated.

One contemporary love story...
Two paths to choose from...
Three sides to every story -
yours, mine and the truth.

Grant has just won the NYMF award for Excellence in Musical Theatre Writing (lyrics) for THREE SIDES, and received an honourable mention in the music category.

"The music and lyrics, both by Grant Olding, seamlessly mix a contemporary pop sound with theatrical savvy. Olding's character-driven songs are compelling set pieces delving into the singers' psyches and moods of the moment." Backstage review by Ron Cohen

Three Sides was presented in NYC by Sharon Fallon, Daniel Wallace and Trish Whitehurst. Clive Paget directed, Morgan Large designed, Jeff Croiter designed the lighting, & Mark Collins was the musical director.

Grant wrote the first draft of Three Sides during his residency at the Bridewell Theatre. The piece was workshopped three times, the last two workshops culminating in performances with Clive Paget directing.

Songs from the show have been performed in various concerts and cabarets throughout the UK and the West End, and the show was produced at the Shaw theatre in 2005. The creative team expanded when Toby Davies came onboard to add some new scenes to the show in 2006 and the show has just completed a run at the 45th Street Theatre, New York as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival, where it won rave reviews and an award for Excellence in Musical Theatre Writing.
